Dixon Bowles
Dixon Van Hoozer-Bowles is an Orlando-based choreographer, educator, and artistic director. He is the founder of Dance With Dixon (DWD) and the director of both DWD ProSeries and DWD Collective.
Trained at Utah Valley University and hired by Disney Jr. Live while still completing his studies, Dixon has spent over a decade teaching and choreographing for studios, high schools, universities, and national competitions across the country.
After relocating to Florida in 2016, Dixon spent nine years as competition director at a major Central Florida studio, building a program from the ground up into one of the most recognized in the area. He's also worked as a musical theatre choreographer, competition judge, and national Tour Director with Fly Dance Competition. Now he's building DWD — DWD ProSeries (audition-based youth training) and DWD Collective (adult modern dance, no audition required).
What I Bring
Teaching Philosophy
I believe in rigor with heart. Every class should challenge you, every rehearsal should push you, and every performance should mean something. I don't do filler. I don't do lazy. But I also don't do fear-based teaching. My dancers work hard because they want to — because they feel invested, not intimidated.
Two Programs, One Standard
- DWD ProSeries — full competitive training across all styles (jazz, ballet, contemporary, lyrical, hip hop, musical theatre) for dancers ages 5+. Three tracks. Not a studio — a dedicated training company.
- DWD Collective — modern dance company for adults. No audition required. All levels welcome. Weekly classes and real performances.
- Every class designed by a working director and choreographer — not pulled from a syllabus
- Choreography that tells stories — every piece has a purpose
DWD Collective
What We Are
DWD Collective is a modern/contemporary dance company for adults of all levels. Whether you danced growing up and stepped away, or you're discovering movement for the first time — there's a place for you here.
We train together weekly, building technique and artistry through modern dance fundamentals. And we perform together — taking real choreography to real stages.
No audition. No experience required. Just show up ready to move.
The Experience
Modern Technique / Movement
Floor work, alignment, weight shifts, phrase work. This is where we build the foundation — how you move, how you connect to the floor, how you use your body as an instrument. Open to drop-ins.
Choreography Rehearsal
We learn and refine original choreography for upcoming performances. This is where the technique meets the storytelling. For company members and those preparing for shows.
Current Season
Building toward our first performance at the Amusing Spaces showcase in June 2026 at Orlando Ballet School.
Rehearsal dates resuming soon — sign up to stay in the loop.
Technique class only
Class + Rehearsal
We accept:
Studio Locations
Classes rotate between studios across Orlando. Current spring season is at Exchange Dance Studio.
Exchange Dance Studio
Current home base. Saturday classes + rehearsals.
Next Level Dance Studio
Additional class location for future seasons.
Who This Is For
- Adults who danced growing up and want to get back into it
- Adults who never danced but have always wanted to
- Movers, yogis, athletes looking for a new creative outlet
- Anyone who wants to perform on stage (yes, really)
- You don't need to be "good enough." You just need to show up.
ProSeries
The Program
ProSeries is a full-spectrum competitive training program for dancers ages 5 and up. Three tracks — Prep, Elite, and Pro — each built around serious technique, artistry, and performance. This is your dancer's home for training, not an add-on.
Dancers train across all styles — jazz, ballet, contemporary, lyrical, hip hop, musical theatre — with an emphasis on jazz and ballet technique as the foundation for everything else. Every class is designed by a working choreographer and director, not pulled from a syllabus.
This isn't a recreational program and it isn't a studio. ProSeries is a company — a dedicated training environment built to develop well-rounded, professional-level dancers who are as strong in artistry as they are in technique.
Why ProSeries
ProSeries exists because most competitive dance programs are built around the same model — and that model wasn't built for developing artists.
Not a Studio
Traditional studios make their money from recreational classes and little kids. The competitive team is an afterthought — a revenue add-on, not the mission. ProSeries flips that. Competitive training is the mission. Every hour, every dollar, every decision is pointed at developing serious dancers.
Built by a Director
Dixon has spent 15+ years in the room — teaching, choreographing, directing, and competing at the national level. ProSeries isn't a franchise model or a syllabus someone bought. It's a program designed by someone who's done the work and knows what it takes to build a dancer from the ground up.
Full Training in All Styles
Jazz. Ballet. Contemporary. Lyrical. Hip hop. Musical theatre. Your dancer won't specialize too early or miss entire genres. The emphasis is on jazz and ballet technique — the foundation that makes everything else possible — with real depth across every style.
Artists, Not Just Competitors
We don't train dancers to win trophies. We train them to move with intention, tell stories, understand musicality, and carry themselves like professionals. The trophies come because the work is real — not the other way around.
ProSeries vs. Traditional Studio
The highest level. Maximum training, maximum competition, maximum artistry. Director-level coaching across every style.

Auditions
Placement auditions for all three tracks. Selective. Spots are extremely limited — max ~10 dancers per track. Not everyone gets in.

Season 1 Begins
Weekly classes, rehearsals, and training start. The work begins.
